We adopted a sign from the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor… you can too!

Have you signed up for the e-newsletter provided by the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor?

I did and that’s how I found out about their super cool program to adopt a Lincoln Highway sign!

For only fifty dollars you can adopt a sign for three years.  This helps the LHHC to pay for the upkeep and insurance on each of the approximately 200 signs along the Corridor.

When I participated in the cross country tour in 2003, my dad was along for the ride from NYC (through Lancaster) :) all the way back here to Ohio.  So, I thought that adopting a sign in his name would be a fun idea for Christmas.  I spoke with Kristin at the LHHC.  She was very friendly and even asked if we had a preferred location.  Of course, I asked for something in the vicinity of Grandview Point.

When we received our packet in the mail, this is what we got…

(My dad’s sign is the one highlighted in yellow, closest to the top of the map.)

Uh, we also got one of these, but I forgot to take a picture of it.  :)

Hopefully someday my dad and I will be able to travel to where his sign is located.  If we do, you can be sure I’ll let you all know.

Until then, here’s the the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor, and here’s to you…
